Should you sponsor a cat with WARN?
Yes if you want monthly money to reach free-roaming community cats and cats seized from meat-trade routes abroad, and you accept that the gift is pooled. No if you wanted a UK pen with postcards, a kitten to collect, or Gift Aid.
UK “sponsor a cat” usually means a pen, a photo, and sometimes a window sticker. WARN cannot honestly sell that. Partners trap, neuter, vaccinate and return colony cats, and they run quarantine when police intercept stolen cats. Your gift helps the next clinic or the next seizure — not one chosen face on a certificate gallery.

What does sponsoring a cat actually fund?
It helps fund trap-neuter-vaccinate-return for community cat colonies and veterinary quarantine after meat-trade seizures. It does not buy a named pen cat or a kitten shipped to you.
WARN does not yet quote a confirmed partner invoice for “one cat sterilisation”, so this page will not pretend £X equals one surgery. Adopt/cat tiers are contribution amounts: they help fund sterilisation, clinic days and quarantine stock. Overstating cats-per-pound would be a conversion trick, not a kindness.
On a TNVR day, cats are trapped humanely, neutered, vaccinated, often ear-tipped, rested, and returned to their colony. After a seizure, the same networks switch to isolation and triage in the first hours. Monthly gifts are what let partners keep traps, vaccine and isolation pens ready instead of fundraising from zero after every raid.

Step 1 — Monthly versus one-off. Colonies need repeat rounds; seizures need surge money. Step 2 — Pay in GBP or USD. Step 3 — Keep the receipt. Ask for certificate wording if the gift is for someone else — and tell them it funds TNVR abroad, not a pet.

Who should skip sponsoring a cat here?
Skip if you need a cat in your home, a named UK pen with photo packs, Gift Aid, or a 501(c)(3) receipt. Skip if you will only give if you can visit. Those routes belong to local charities and registered rescues.

The catch is expecting cattery marketing from a grant to colony TNVR and quarantine. If you need the postcard, give locally.

Photo certificates tied to one cat in a UK pen are a local-rescue product. WARN will not invent a gallery of named cats to close a checkout.

US and UK shelter-pen products remain the right choice for a named cat in your country. Use WARN when the point is colonies and seized cats that will not be rehomed into a Western home.
