What does 'symbolic adoption' mean?
A symbolic adoption is a donation connected to an animal appeal. It does not transfer ownership or reserve a particular animal. The species page explains the relevant fund, eligible support and how WARN assesses grants.
Which animals can I adopt through WARN?
Choose a dog, cat, elephant, tiger, orangutan, sea turtle, pangolin or macaw. Review the associated appeal before choosing an affordable gift. Cat adoption supports the dog and cat meat-trade appeal, which covers both species.
Can I adopt a dog or cat to take home?
WARN does not rehome pets. Dog and cat adoptions are symbolic donations to the purposes described on their pages. For a pet to bring home, use the shelter directory and contact an independent rescue about its adoption process.
Can I cancel my monthly adoption at any time?
Yes. Visit /donate/manage/ to manage future payments or email [email protected] for help.
Can I make a one-off adoption gift instead of monthly?
Yes. Choose one-off or monthly giving on the species page. Digital acknowledgement follows a successful payment; check your email address at checkout and contact WARN if it does not arrive. A welcome pack or scheduled field report is not promised.
