Should you sponsor a dog with WARN?

Most “sponsor a dog” searches expect a photograph, a name, and a pen you can visit. WARN’s live dog product is the opposite on purpose: your gift joins other sponsors so a partner team can return to the same streets, round after round. That is how CNVR works. One named dog in a British kennel does not stop a cull in Karachi.

What does sponsoring a dog actually fund?
It funds humane catch, neuter, vaccinate and return — plus rabies vaccine — through vetted partner clinics. It does not buy you a dog, a visit, or exclusive “ownership” of one animal’s story.
At WARN’s Karachi programme costs, £5 a month funds the equivalent of a rabies vaccination for 1 street dog every month. £12 covers 3 dogs a month. £30 funds the equivalent of one full CNVR surgery every 3 months. Dogs are caught humanely, treated by a vet, marked so they are not caught twice, and returned to the exact street they came from. A neutered, vaccinated dog holds territory. Culling empties it and new dogs move in, which is why the World Health Organization is clear that killing street dogs does not control rabies or population.

How do you sponsor a dog, step by step?

Step 1 — Decide monthly versus one-off. Monthly is what lets partners book the next camp before the last one ends. One-off is right for an urgent clinic day. Step 2 — Pay in GBP or USD at Stripe checkout. Step 3 — Keep the receipt. Request certificate wording if someone else should see their name on it.

What happens on a Karachi CNVR camp day?
A camp day starts before the heat does. Partner teams work the same few streets they have mapped for weeks, because the dogs there are known — which ones are pregnant, which are limping, which have already been ear-notched from a previous round.
Each dog caught is checked, sedated, neutered and vaccinated by a vet, then moved to a shaded recovery area and watched until it is steady on its feet. The ear notch goes in before it wakes. By evening every dog goes back to the street it was lifted from, and the map gets updated.

Who should skip sponsoring a dog here?
Skip this page if you need a dog in your home, a named kennel animal with photo packs, Gift Aid, or a US 501(c)(3) receipt. Those are honest noes. Local registered rescues and UK charities exist for the first three; WARN will not pretend to be them.

You will not pick “your” dog. Pooling is what lets a camp treat whichever animal needs surgery that morning. Individual photo packs would misrepresent how the grant is spent.

WARN is a registered UK Community Interest Company (Company no. 17298990) and is not a charity, so it cannot claim Gift Aid. The donation case is transparent partner-led welfare where support reaches practical field needs.

“Sponsor a puppy” through WARN still funds CNVR that prevents unwanted litters and vaccinates young dogs on the street. It is not a named pup in a UK pen and it is not export to your home.

Does this work for UK and US donors?
Yes. UK supporters pay in GBP; US supporters can pay in USD at the same checkout. Neither route is Gift Aid eligible or US tax-deductible, because WARN is a UK Community Interest Company, not a charity and not a 501(c)(3).
