Who we are

What data we collect

We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it to us — for example when you:

• Contact us by email or via our contact form (name, email address, message content)
• Submit a tribute for the pet memorial wall (name, species, message, email address)
• Sign up to receive updates (email address)

If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect aggregated usage data via Google Analytics 4 (see Cookies below). We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data for marketing.

How we use your data

We use your data only for the purpose for which you provided it:

• To respond to your enquiry
• To process and acknowledge your donation or tribute submission
• To send updates if you have opted in to receive them
• If you have accepted analytics cookies: to understand how the website is used (page views, traffic sources, and similar aggregated metrics) so we can improve the site

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data retention

We retain contact and donation records for seven years in line with HMRC requirements. Tribute wall submissions are retained until you ask us to remove them. Google Analytics retention follows the retention period configured in our Google Analytics property.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

Cookies

We store your cookie consent preference in your browser (local storage) as either accepted or declined.

Essential: required for basic site operation (for example remembering your consent choice). These do not require consent beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Analytics (optional): only if you choose Accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-SXEJD942NB, Google Analytics property 539985014, stream “WARN”). Google’s tag (gtag.js) is not loaded before you make a choice, and is not loaded if you decline. We use Google Consent Mode: analytics_storage defaults to denied and is granted only after Accept; ad_storage remains denied. Analytics helps us understand aggregate site usage. Google acts as a processor for this data under Google’s terms; see Google’s privacy policy.

You can change your mind by clearing site data for this domain (which clears the stored consent choice) and reloading the page to see the cookie notice again.
