Adopt an Elephant

Ivory poaching, snaring and deadly human-elephant conflict claim thousands of elephants a year. Your monthly adoption funds the patrols, vets and coexistence teams that keep them alive.

What Your Adoption Funds

Monthly adoptions are pooled into WARN's Elephant Programme and grant out to vetted partners in Indonesia and Malaysia — WARN's current in-network elephant focus.

🐘

Anti-Snare Patrols

Wire snares maim and kill elephants across their corridors. Your adoption funds the ranger patrols that find and remove them before they kill.

🩺

Field Vet Response

Your adoption helps fund the mobile field-surgery teams that dart, treat and free injured, snared and conflict-affected elephants.

🐘

Orphan Calf Care

Calves orphaned by poaching and conflict need years of care. Your adoption supports partner sanctuaries that hand-raise and rehabilitate them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many elephants are left?
There are roughly 40,000–50,000 wild Asian elephants (Endangered). Africa's elephants are now two species: about 352,000 African savanna elephants (Endangered, last continent-wide survey 2016) and about 135,690 African forest elephants (Critically Endangered, IUCN 2024). All three populations are in long-term decline.
What does my elephant adoption fund?
Your monthly adoption is pooled into WARN's Elephant Programme, with Indonesia and Malaysia as the current in-network focus — funding anti-snare context, rapid field-veterinary response, humane human-elephant coexistence work and the care of orphaned calves.
Does WARN run its own elephant sanctuary?
No. WARN is a global not-for-profit animal welfare organisation that raises funds and makes grants to, and partners with, established sanctuaries, rescue teams and veterinary services. We fund frontline work rather than building WARN-branded facilities.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Email [email protected] and we will cancel your monthly adoption within two working days, with no penalty.
